Sell it and buy an auto Ranger or BT50 etc.Seriously, changing your defender to auto is folly. Pat

Have a quick search for "Automatic Defender" and a ton of links come up on AULRO. Ashcroft's is one of the better conversions.

The td5 has been done quite a few times , simply because there are more td5 Discos , that can be doner cars ! I think after looking into cost you might change your mind . I always thought that Land Rover should have given an Auto option , after all they do with there other models . Plenty of people would have paid the extra payed $$ Jim

Thanks for the input people, and yep being looking at Ashcroft and Man that's expensive, because I love the 110 I'll put up with the dodgy knee a until it's no longer an option.
    Cheers again

Have you looked at this option?

RedBooster.com Land Rover Defender Servo Clutch

I'm not sure how much lighter the clutch petal would be but might help for a while.

Just had a good look at the website and under "Testimonials & Fittings", one guy demonstrates how he can now press the clutch with one finger.

Yes i have driven one and ot is quite strange how disconnected from 'normal' defender clutch feel it is. A well engineered product though!
