Rivnuts can be a pain when the time comes to undo. Rivets much better IMO

So I went and bought the Rivnut kit, went to go fit and thought I should pop rivet this, so I did.

Pop riveted top & bottom left side on bracket and put the fury side of Velcro on the back as not to scratch and put some Sikaflex on the right side to hold down.

Thanks for all the replies. Appreciated

Just read this thread and contacted the dealer to ask him not to fix the rear plates to my new D90, I'm going to use the stuff for mirrors and picture frames! Should be strong enough and will leave no marks!

The front number plate on my RRC is only held on with double sided tape. It's been through dozens of water crossings (inc a freaky one which took out the motor), dozens of AULRO bush trips & climbed many a rock step without budging at all.
I used a decent Wurth tape though.

Be aware you will be far more at risk of number plate theft if you use a method like that. I can't speak for Vic, but here in the ACT number plate theft is a very common occurrence. Just a heads up.

    Cheers,
