Weird Air Con problem - 2015 Defender 90

    G'Day All,

I took the leap a few months back and bought a new 90. It's proving to be a great decision !

So far, touch wood, I've only experienced one (weird) issue. Otherwise I appear to "have got a good one".

The air conditioning blows very cold air so a bit of "re-heat" is usually necessary to stop my left arm from freezing.

Turning the temperature knob about 20 degrees anti-clockwise from dead cold to a bit of warmth results in no change to the temperature of the air coming from the driver's side circular adjustable outlet. But warm/hot air then comes from the pasenger's side circular adjustable outlet! Weird !!!!

Has anyone experienced this? If so, what was the cause?

Obviously I've got to go back to Land Rover but it would be helpful if I had some idea of what might be involved in fixing the problem.

    Thanks in advance.

No matter what the problem - there's a solution. You've just got to find it.

The knobs are out of adjustment,I've found the cables need to be worked a bit to loosen up before they work properly. Pat

Loose ducting behind the dash for the driver's side vent?????
Used to be a common problem with pre Puma Defenders.

This is a known "issue" or maybe a characteristic of the system. I experienced this as well before (I'm LHD) where the heater controls didn't seal off properly via the knob and I would get intermittent hot and cold air from the circular vent but the other vents stayed somewhat cool. A quick push on the thingie that the cable attached to fixed this for me.

Since you are keen on using the heater, it has been suggested that the heater core may be blocked or clogged on the one side.

Finding the right temp for you is apparently a fine tuning exercise with the knob so I hope you find your temp sweet spot.

    Not sure if this helps.
