Child seats in D90

Can anyone here suggest what's the best option for the fitting of anchor points for a child seat in a new 90?

Won't be used a huge amount as have a D3 for family travel....but from time to time it may have to carry a car seat/booster seat/capsule.

From past experience would any particular installers be recommended in Sydney or the NSW Central West?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Yeah there is a company in Narrellan who does it with an engineers certificate, I had my last Deefer done a couple of years ago and they charged $900.
I just recently contacted them and they wanted $1,500 and gave me a cock n Bull story they are using different bolts that's why it's $600 more. Bah ha ha.

I had a whinge to them and they came down to $1,400 but even that is a wrought ❗️

It takes them approximately 1.5 hours to fit 3 anchors to the back of the seats, and anchor bolts you do the math, this guy has gotten a bit cocky as he has no competition.

So I probably wouldn't recommend him on principle. Let's see if anyone else can recommend someone apart from this Vampire at Narrellan.

Was this for the rear seats of a 110 or a 90?

If it gets all too hard it'll end up being an untethered booster I guess and the D3 will have to be used for carting around under 4s....but it would be a shame given it's a fine new vehicle ready to go.

If you have any kind of cage or decent internal bar setup you can mount to that.

I had 50x7mm flat bar welded end to end across my cage which I tapped 3 baby seat mounting points to.

No it's not engineer certified, but yes it is a hundred times stronger than the single bar they supply as it has mounting points both at the top and bottom

I had 2 bars welded across mine so its likely the most structurally sound part of the car and definitely stiffens up the 110 heaps.

it's also a much better option than A tethered seat too. The only hard part is getting someone to fit the seat who isn't going to give you grief. mine was all powdercoated so it looked legit. I got the mobile seat fitter to come round and fit 3 in one go... he never said a word.

$1500 is highway robbery.. I already had the cage in it when I bought the truck so I was up for a case of beer for the guys who supplied and welded the flat bar and a favour for a mate who did the powdercoating. Total savings ... about $1450 by my count... thats a new Turbo from Jose at TD5 Inside, Ashcroft diff, a new allisport cooler + HD flanges and change or a whole buttload of other things...

Are you catching my logic yet?
