I'd thought you were talking about the narrow slit between the windscreen and the dash. That's even neater. I hadn't realised that vent wasn't fully ducted. I'll investigate further once I rip the dash out. How do you stop it from falling out of reach? Would it be worth cable tying or gluing in place?
The vent is fully ducted, but comes apart when you pull the dash centre forwards. I just ran the cable up into the vent from there.
It stays in place because there is some excess in the duct, and the head cannot fit through the vent without bending it, so it stays there nicely.
Completely reversible too if my technology needs change.
