    squeaking door rubbers

Well at 150K typical of Defender, squeaks have appeared along with the leaks.

I have loosened, tightened, and rubber greased the rear door. But no, it still squeaks. Any ideas how to fix the pile.

In the list of mods to this Defender 110, under 'Interior' he lists upgraded door seals.

Might be worth asking him what that means.

My door seal squeaks seem to come and go (possible temp dependant?) - none for weeks now, but they were driving me crazy a few months ago.

No quick and easy fixes in my experience - probably time for replacement seals.

MY drivers door rubber squeaked like mad, it was driving me nuts!! I tried a few things including lubricating, it worked a for a few days and came back, in the end I gave them a good clean with meths and it seemed to work, but came back about a month later, now i just clean with meths every month or so when it starts squeaking. I thought maybe it got some wax on it or something when it went for its annual clean at the drive through coffee and car wash place.

Ditto with squeaky seals. Not a solution merely a mask of the problem, I have a spray bottle with a mix of washing detergent and water and give the rubbers a spray when they squeak. Detergent doesn't attract dust and grit like an oil, wax, grease product seems to do, to a lesser extent anyway.

As a bonus I wash the rubbers when it rains (jokes).

Try that silicone spray that's available at el cheapo shops.
I use it for eliminating dry squeaks that I don't want oil or grease on!

Check the white plastic on the striker pictured below is in good nick. Mine were worn and the squeaking drove me nuts on a very long drive home.

GQ patrols used to squeak like mad .
I found the fix to be lots of Armor All applied regularly.

I retention my door striker if it starts to squeak,,, tight.
I replaced the front doors strikers with the units that stop your pants pockets being ripped, can't remember what they're called. I've also found that even doing them up as tight as you can, they still come loose, and I suspect it's the plastic spacer between the body and strike plate.

Try silicone spray or if you can find it rubber softening spray. it moisturizes and softens dried out old rubber
