Rick I agree , I try to keep them just off the front R/arms for no other reason than to protect the tyre . I've never had any problems with damage to the C/Vs I suppose like everything the C/Vs have there limits , Maybe full lock trying to get out of a deep rut , even then I've never had one let go !!.. I sounds horrible when they touch but when you drive a 130 with the turning circle of The Queen Mary you look for every bit of extra lock you can get. :D
