    turning Circle

Well I finally adjusted the steering on the 110 , Been meaning to do It for quite a while . As It was I had trouble doing U turns on one go . The thing is It didn't take long to do . The turning circle is so much better now . For those that have the same problem . Jack the front up , I also used axle stands , you need a 16mm, and 18mm ring spanner , loosen off the back nuts 16mm then the stop bolts 18mm , on the swivel housing . Adjust them in until the tyres just miss the front arms . Re tighten them up , check they don't rub , Job done !!.. Jim

Seems so simple to do. Makes you wonder why they ship with such a lousy turning circle in the first place.

The argument against doing that would be that by adjusting the stops and operating the CV joints at more acute angles you are are potentially exposing the CV joints to higher forces than previously or (I haven't checked) operating the CVs past their maximum designed angle. That might be of minimal concern when turning around in a cul-de-sac, but in an off road, low range situation where there might be much higher loads (including shock loads) which could result in premature wear or failure.

Do they use different from CV joints on the 110 and 90?

I thought they were the same, in which case, as the 90 has much more steering lock available from the factory, I would not have thought there would be the issue as you describe...

    From the workshop manual:
    1. Measure clearance between tire wall and radius arm at full lock. This must be not less than 20 mm.
    2. Loosen stop bolt locknut.
    3. Turn stop bolt as required.
    4. Tighten locknut.
    5. Check clearance between tire wall and radius arm on each lock.

If you do any serious off-roading, you might want to check your lock again with some articulation on the front. I adjusted mine so the silly 35x12.5x15 tyres were not touching on full lock, but then tried it again with some articulation off road, and had the mud-biter thingies rubbing on the trailing arms...

Does it or is it just that the same amount of lock gives you a smaller turning circle because of the shorter wheelbase?

If your tyres aren't rubbing you're wasting lock IMO.
