Four or five speed box?
John
Apart from the general furnace that is the drivers floor, I think the heat coming thru the hi-low range knob opening needs to be sorted. The existing gaiter is in several pieces and needs replacing. I can't seem to find the part number, let alone a replacement gaiter. Are these available???
Really don't want to live with a piece of old carpet with a cut-out over the lever opening for ever.

Hi John,
Lt95, 4 speed.
Have you ever heard of the split pin and washers falling off the transfer knob axle? I lost high range this morning, 3 hours from home, and was stuck in low with the prospect of a very slow drive home. Looking underneath found the pin missing and the axle had wandered across to a point that it failed to engage the gears. Very relieved when I found it was just the split pin and washers needed replacing.

I couldn't find anywhere that stocked a replacement gaiter either. In the end, I used a square EPDM flashing thingamajig, similar to Kinetic 0 - 35mm Black EPDM Square Roof Flashing | Bunnings Warehouse
Works, and doesn't look _too_ bodgy, IMHO anyway
I'm awaiting delivery of a set of three leather boots for my D2 - hand brake, hi/low range and manual geat stick. As mine is an auto I won't be needing the gear stick one which may be OK fot your hi/low range stick. If you could post a photo it help me to determine if it would be suitable.

Upon closer inspection, the boot seems to comprise the original boot and some other non original type both wedge behind the opening. I initially thought it was the original in pieces but once out, the original was found to be in perfect condition, so I threw away the tatty one and refitted the original. Happy outcome! Why he previous owner fitted a crappy other type beggars reason.....
