    Split-fold seats in a county

I am fiddling about with fitting (slightly) later seats to a 1986 County.

I don't have the latches/catches (but am on the search). I was wondering if there is a reason that I couldn't use the county screw latch-post thingy (334176 see my pic from the parts book - I know its S3 but it's basically the same) and make up a strap (MTC6754) to suit, fitting it to the seat in place of the latch.

MTC6754 is not exactly a strap - it is a piece of steel, bent to a specific shape and with a machined recess and slot to take the screw down post thingy. I have never compared it to the later latch, so I can't comment on whether it would be strong enough or not for a split seat.

In some of the 130 dual cabs they have the split fold seats but a fixed bracket bolted on the backrest. Given that the tab is approved on the 110, you could possibly fix the 110 bracket onto the backrest. But you may have to check the ADR and addition that applies to your County.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
