Defender 90 Rear wiper / washer advice

    Hi All

2000km up on my new 90 & loving life. From day one though I noticed that the rear wiper / washer does not work - today I checked the fuses & yes all in order. I noticed last night that the rear wiper / washer buttons were not illuminated with the rest of the dash & other buttons - any advice here most appreciated.

    Thanks in advance
    Glen

Does the pump work / make a whirring noise when button is depressed?

Plan B Might be remove centre stereo surround and check that the plug is connected.

Failing that, if it's brand new, make it the dealer's problem.

Could (should!) be a simple matter of undoing the 4x torx screws and gently jimmying the surround off about an inch up from the bottom corners, and about an inch below where it angles back into the dash. You'll feel the clips. Gently remove. From there a 5 second look at the back of the button should give you a good idea if it's the plug!

Oh sorry. I must have had a premature seniors moment.
Looks like it's only 2 screws! IIRC they are about T30 torx

If you have a set of trim removal tools they are the best i've found for ease of use, and not damaging the vehicle. I used to use screwdrivers and anything else I could get my grubby hands on, but I've since seen the light. About 15 bucks from supersheap.

Thanks for the advice Mitch - will track down that trim removal kit & see what's doing on the weekend.
