The Sunday Times 27 October 1985 Land Rover advertisement.
This is a full page advertisement from The Sunday Times 27 October 1985 for the launch of the Land Rover 90. Almost brings tears to my eyes now that the Defender is gone.
I like the bit where it says
"They filled the tank with fresh diesel. Changed the oil. And more in faith than expectation, tried the key in the ignition. Unbelievably, it started". Ah yes those were the days.

Can you enlarge on the history of the Defender 90 in Australia? I have a 2004 TD5 90 which I think was one of only about 40 imported around that time. Then I think it was a few years before they imported again. It seems to me that they became very popular toward the end but I think the build up was slow.
