    PUMA Wipers

    Hi All,
I have just returned from a trip up to Birdsville and surrounds. About 4500kms all up. Lots of corrugations!

On the way home wipers decided to not turn off....had to remove the fuse. They stop with ignition off.

    Relay?

Its only done 60,00kms so l can see the switch being the issue.

    TIA,
    Michael

It very may well be, they are pretty crappy IMO.
My switch works fine, but moves to a third position, higher than the fast speed.
Mine is only 60000 old too.

Without too much of a thread drift... how did you handle the corrugations mate? Speed, tyre pressures etc... to what effect?

    Cheers, Pete

As for the road conditions - l wasn't heavily loaded. I have BFG ATs 235 85 16 on Boost Alloys. I had them at about 28-30PSI. As we weren't in a huge hurry - l tended to slow for the real rough stuff.

The 130 handled things very well. Far better than the GQ Patrol in our convoy - whose occupants were shaken to pieces, had ringing ears, sore backs etc.

I have had 3 TD5 Wagons and went to a GU Patrol 18 months ago. Just sold the Patrol to buy the 130. Couldn't be happier. I took the GU to East Arnhem - it had no issues. Drove fine etc. But the Land Rover just feels more stable, is definitely more powerful, better on fuel and more practical in a variety of ways.

    Hope that helps,
    Michael

I think mine only lasted 60,000kms. Interestingly enough, pulled the one off a rear wiper from a range rover classic and have been using that ever since. If your wrists aren't too big and you can manage a little bit of pain, you can swap the switch out without pulling the entire dashboard. Just pull the bolts out of the passenger side and squeeze in behind it.
    Cheers,

    Ben.
