I drove a customers Defender last week that had Recaro seats fitted, I didnt take a lot of notice but bolted in the standard holes, it had less room than the standard seats, so seat base extensions would be needed (dont know if this is an option with the recaro seats), just a passing thought.

    Regards

Harro that's just the lighting, they are both black.

I have the Mulgo seat rail extensions which I highly recommend, the Recaro's have three height settings, the lowest setting would be equivalent to standard seat height.

I have the front of the Recaros on setting two and the rear on the lowest.

Dazza your right, the seat base is longer and reaches the back of your knees, so I agree the Mulgo seat rail extensions are needed.

Having that longer base is so much more comfortable I don't feel like I'm falling off my seat anymore.

I have Recaros in the front. Most comfortable seats I have ever used. I dont even need to stretch after 1000km days.
Only downside is mine are bolted to the floor, and it takes about 4 minutes to get to the battery, and four to reinstal.
I had to have an Engineers modification plaque as well.
    Just do it.
You can even buy off road seat covers for them, though I went with Sheeps Skin.
    Best wishes.

    Expert M.
Does everyone else have to unbolt to get to the battery, or is there a mounting option Im not aware of?
    Thanks.
