GM HEI on my 3.5 V8

My 110 came with this GM HEI unit and it is running very nicely, however it does cut out when you hose the engine down - well it was dirty and I de-greased it. I will trace out the wiring but it is very huckery and I suspect the cut out is one of the dodgy connections. It appears three or four wires going to it one of which is the purple one you can see with an inline diode in-line open to the elements which might be the ignition light.
Has anyone run with this unit and has a wiring diagram? being a sparky I will be tidying it all up but it would be good to see if it was installed correctly in the first place.

Dont have a diagram but they really only need one wire to operate, its probably a buick/pontiac model as they are a drop in after changing the drive gear.
