Well - it turns out it was not the output shaft - they rang and said they replaced that and it is still not fixed - they are looking into it.....

My 2010 110 has been rattling for 60 000kms now; towed a 2+tonne camper for 40 000kms of that. Pretty sure it's clutch (although I've been told all sorts) as rattle stops as soon as I depress the pedal.
I also have the BAS remap
Speaking of which, the plug in unit won't connect via Bluetooth atm. Anyone know if I should I just plug it into my computer fora reboot?
Is the springs in the clutch plate. You need a new clutch if you don’t want the rattle
It hasn't left the service department - I have a loan car. So I assume they will not give it back until it is fixed.
I am just glad I am not paying for this (being done under warranty) - as I can just see them replacing the gear box and then having to replace the clutch.
But - they must know what they are doing......
So - the clutch rattle is fixed - it sounds like new.
They found the inner springs of clutch disk broken and outer springs to be very loose. They supplied a new clutch kit, slave cyclinder and thrust bearing.
The Output Shaft and coupling was corroded and had slight play - so that was replaced.
Upon removal of the clutch they found rear main seal leak - so it was replaced.
All coverered under warranty.
This was at it's two year service with 23K on the speedo.........
Must say that they were very good - and I didn't mind the loan car for a week - a Disco Sport that was fun to drive!
I have a 2014 110 here today with a clutch rattle... certainly pretty damn obvious what it is...

2008 clutch replaced under warranty 9 years ago. Clutch rattles occasionally. Still going forward. I will fix it when it is broken.
