Try un plugging the lead to the fuel solenoid.
If it still runs then the solenoid is not closing off and needs to be replaced. If it cuts out when you un plug the solenoid then you have a wiring issue

I have a 1988 110 with a 200tdi conversion. The engine stays on after ignition turned off and the key pulled out.
The previous owner bought a new ignition for this, however I have read about a few others having issues with either the ignition switch, ignition barrel, or stop solenoid.
Anyone have similar issues?
Will get back to the truck tomorrow or Friday to have a look.

Bill if those tests aren't conclusive there is also the possibility that the injector pump is failing if you notice flecks of metal on the stop solenoid plunger. These have the effect of holding the plunger off ots seat and preventing shut down.
