    Coolant leak

Hello lads and ladies, been a while!

I have a minor coolant leak which I can't get eyeballs on and don't want to buy an inspection camera if possible.

It's under the exhaust manifold of my TD5, leaking towards the front of the block.

Any ideas on easy ways to get eyes on it or what it could be - trying to avoid the potential broken bolts when taking the manifold off if I can and access from underneath is tough.

    Thanks in advance,

    Joe

2 known leakers on that side of a TD5.
1-Directly behind the turbo is a short stepped hose that goes to the cooler.
Either a planking plug or a hose to a pipe depending on the age of the motor.
2-Water pump, bolts to the rear of the power steering drive and has a tell tale hole in the cover plate.
It can be removed with the manifold in place but it's tight.

On the intake side check the fuel cooler end caps, the O rings in there are also weepers.
As you'll have the system drained I'd consider doing all of them in one go.
    Cheers, Kyle

Thanks mate I will have a look!

Have already done the fuel cooler fix, did one end at a time because I like things to be difficult! I am more thinking waterpump then, it is too far forward for it to be near the turbo.

WSM says unbolt the aircon compressor and move aside to remove the water pump.
    I didn't, but wished I had.
    And I have small hands.....

Unbolt meaning just from the mounts or unbolt and remove entirely (which unless I am wildly mistaken would require a regas)?

Serpentine belt off and 4 bolts to move the compressor.
leave the hoses conected but be gentle when you move it due to age of the lines.

Yes like Alien just said. No regas needed. Definitely good advice.
