    leaking injector pump

    hi all my injector pump on my 300tdi defender has started leaking from the throttle spindle, started to leak after fitting new accelerator cable truck runs fine still, got 377,000ks up on original pump is it possible to fix it without taking off the pump or should I just go full recon advice appreciated cheers all.

    yep doable in situ, fiddliest bit is tetrising the cover back in place after you do the shaft/bush refurb most worrying bit is getting the throttle arm back on in the right place.


    if you need to you can do a basic overhaul of the pump with it in situe the only thing you cant do is the pump at the front and the main shaft, its seals and bearings.

    Ive had to recover 2 from failure to follow the instructions on the leaking head seal while they were still bolted up to the engine. Makes for an interesting evening and copious use of the petroleum white jelly.

    injector pump full rebuild

    thanks black knight, ive decided to go a full rebuild 377000ks must be due,
    bosh in cairns are doing it around $1400 cheers.
