Hi Steve.Re what my spending has been, Who knows, Heading towards $30K easily, but the trucks a keeper, and I enjoy personalising/improving where able!
Re the header tank, I don't know of any landies that have distorted their plastic tank, but I've done it on other vehicles when over heating. For a couple of hundred shackles, I've removed that risk of distortion, fracture of the plastic header tank moulding lines.
It takes the same cap as OEM.
As I tow my van a bit, the cooling system is under load, so apart from aesthetics, it's one less component to be concerned about. I'd say the same benifit to the engine as new silicone hoses.
Merry Christmas mate.

I have eyed them off. But a want rather than a need at this stage.
Any comments on its size relative to the factory unit? Do you think it would open up any more engine bay real estate?
With a bit of fab this may work very well for a provent install. weld a tab or two to it.
G'day Mitch.
They look to be about the same size, although I haven't removed to OEM unit yet.
Hey mate,
I've ordered a Blackvue 2 channel also. Wondering if you have any thoughts about whether there's considerations or economies in doing the Mulgo ExBox and possibly a dual battery setup - all in one go.
Or if it wouldn't really matter if they got done individually.
Cheers
Hi Mate,
It is worthwhile doing at one go. I did the following last year
- Double din dash with Parrot Astoroid smart + wired reverse camera mounted under the numberplate light plinth.
- Alpine sub behind the console (amp in the battery box)
- ExBox with D250S Dual and smart pass all in the box for dual Battery set up + Solar (the Exbox is triple layered now ;))
- I ran a spare 5 core cable to the dash from the ex box just in case
- Installed a red arc dual battery voltage monitor with current sensor
Happy to share my experience and pics if needed.
Cheers

I unexpectedly won a very good dash cam from 12Volt Planet in the U.K. And received it prior to Christmas. What a great company, and an item I wanted either way.
I'll fit it in the next week if I can.
A very worthy addition to any vehicle.
Best wishes for 2017 everyone.
Ken
Good idea! I had all of the electrics sitting on the garage floor last Christmas, and just managed to finish the morning before a long trip to the Vic High country (inc Billy Goat Bluff etc) ..needles to say I wasn't very popular with SWMBO or the rest of the touring party :) ..but I had loads of fun doing it.
good luck
