Thanks Marty.
That's the video I followed to fit mine. No silicone use, just tape and the UKs' reserve supply of grease.

Have a look at the video http://www.onlinegearboxparts.com/pr...ma-slickshift/

Thanks Marty.
I went down to my garage this morning, removed the rescue tape and replaced with electrical tape, only one width thick, re greased the shaft, and the gear stick went on most of the way and fitted fully over the lugs with use af a rubber knockometer.
Difference is amazing.
No stick shake or rattle, possibly 1/3 less travel. The movement between gears is now so direct.
An absolutely brilliant mod and makes driving the truck a lot more civil.
You've got to fit this to your Puma.

Just had another look at the video. Forgot about the grease and tape. Wonder why they just didn't make the shaft the right size.He did ,however, glue the weights to stop the vibration. This( http://tmdtuning.com/wp-content/uplo...c_00047796.jpg )would look good with all your other goodies.
Ha! I've seen the Bowler UK race stuff. Just not that subtle in my view
No idea re the fitment vs vibration issues. Whilst my selector ball was fractured as per the example in the video, my shift lever weights were tight, and remnants of lithium grease insitu. I superglued the weights in place either way, so they won't come loose in the future.
It would be interesting how many cars are driving with this deformation of the ball making Shift sloppy.
Red lock tight to the grub screw on the assembly as well as this tends to get a lot of comment re poor assembly in the U.K. Any failures relate to non use of lock tight.
Might fit my Alisport aluminium expansion tank tomorrow. Shinny!
Good on you Marty.

I continued to do things to the Deafener to bring it up to my standards for flogging it. Refitted the 2nd row of seats which I'd removed around 4 or nearly 5 years ago when I bought it.
3rd row kiddy seats I'd flogged off years ago for a 100 bucks.
Vehicle is looking good.
Washed the engine bay (just dusty no oil leaks) and underneath again. Getting more love now than ever....
Tomorrow I'll give it a good wash outside, then a polish when it's completely dry.
Oil and filter change to use up the oil I have and then a few pics and on carsales.com it goes.
Cook hates me.....

Nice. Does that have the same volume as the original?

Hi Mick.
Seems to, as it was half full as was my plastic unit once I syringed the coolant out, and refilled the new unit. Half full, so plenty of room for expansion.
I'm quite happy with this unit. They also do a power steering reservoir but I have never heard of one of those failing on any vehicle.
Best wishes mate.
