One thing leads to another.

Well, my truck looks like I parked it overnight in a seedy part of town.
While I had the gear box off the winch, I pulled all the clusters out and cleaned and serviced them.
There was no way I was going to be able to get it back onto the winch drum while the bash plate was on, so I dropped that.
Then I remembered that I still needed to fit a couple of hard to reach bolts on my new grill, so spent half an hour trying to fit 2 bolts. Dam it would be nice to have access to a TA at these times.
Got that done, got the winch gear box back on, but my battery is playing up so on charge before I can unspool the winch and fit the Dynema and new hawser. (It pulled in past the roller a bit so difficult to unspool at present).
Ill seal around the various parts of the winch tomorrow with silastic, just to improve water tightness.
I might buy a Mud Stuff right hand wing safe and relocate the winch control box into that. That'll open the air flow to the intercooler/ radiator right up which is a plus.
That all and the relocation of the brake controller switch, I've had enough for the day.
Constructive though.

Removed wire cable and fair lead.

I removed the wire cable and roller fair lead from my Warn Magnum 10K today and it's good to see that I reassembled the winch correctly with no gears or springs left over😉
For those who have wondered, 15kg weight saving by removing the winch wire (10kg) and heavy fairlead (5kg).
Ill refit the 30m of Dynema and solid aluminium billet hawse once they arrive.
Please excuse the state of the floor in the garage, it blew a gale here last night and there's leaves and rubbish everywhere.

While the head lining is out

Seeing as the head lining is still out while I await my Dynamat Extreme to arrive to finish insulating the ceiling, I thought I'd take the opportunity to fit an interior light into the middle passenger area.
These lights are fantastic, so I now have one in each area of the cabin. Should be very bright now.
That, and purchase a Mud Stuff Heater vent diffuser. Channels the warm-hot air into the foot well, as opposed to your shin.
Now just to await the post from the Mother country.
