if you pop the bonnet near the brake fluid bottle is a black rectangle plate with I think 6 screws holding it in place. You need to take this off and put some grease in their making sure it gets on that shaft. It will run down clutch cable and stop your squeak. I have to do it every so often to stop that annoying squeak.

Looks a bit industrial but it seems to generate a bit more flow with the fan off and might get some cooler air into the aircon for those hot days driving into the afternoon sun when the A/C seems to struggle a bit. I might etch prime it and paint it black too when I get a chance.

I'll order a snorkle sock to suit the head for dusty trips and report back whether it makes a difference.

It'd be something I'd do too with the Defender if travelling a bit in convoys, but first one would need to check that the rest of the unit is sealed pretty well to, otherwise it won't work properly.
