- Approved the installation of 3 child restraint anchors for compliance.
- Approved replacement starter battery. (The original one is over 3yrs old and this cold weather and extended periods not being driven saw it refusing to take a charge).
- Declined regular service (will organise that myself)
- had a brief read of the "How to pass a NSW driving test" website found here: The big test - tips from testing officers - Getting a licence - Your licence - GEARED
I would have thought they'd just hand you one. Good luck with the test if they don't. [thumbsupbig]
There would be an online practice test you could do.
Got home from The Tip, Cape York last night after a BIG days driving.
1250kms, Punsand Beach to Innisfail, left at 7AM, got home at 1030PM, which included a repair to a burst radiator hose ( the radiator fan shroud tip rubbed through it) Fixed on the side of the road at Mareeba in the dark with Rescue tape. Absolutely swear by it! You need to carry a roll. I replaced the hose today between high pressure washes of the 110. I brought more than a few kgs of dust and mud back with me.
Big week next week prior to heading down to Tassie for a month in Winter: Front and rear ARB Diff locks, twin air compressor and 4 litre air tank, Air bag man HD air bags, and twin sill Long Range Automotive accessory tanks. Gives me 245 litres of Diesel for remote trips. Anyone want to buy some used Jerry cans?
Pics to follow.
Best wishes all.

I forgot, I also received and installed my Spot Trace GPS tracker.
very impressive. $110 US per year, but it gives a GPS fix, or Google maps location of your vehicle every 2 1/2 mins. Also notifies you by message on your phone or email when your vehicle moves.
A great asset re vehicle security.
Have you tried turning your parrot off and then on again?. Every picture it's in the wrong orientation (cape york pic and profile pic)!
That's a good trip. Wouldn't you say that the landy looks better when it's covered in the mud of the last big expedition?
Hi Mitch.
Ever since the big site crash of 2017, I've not been able to post photos as before. Annoys the hell out of me. Re the mud, yep, the Defender certainly got some looks in town today! I've pressure washed it twice and still need to wash it by hand to remove the red film.
The interior is a real mess as I had to climb through my window to get in and out when covered in mud to effect two winches.
My back door came open on the corrugations multiple times so I've got a serious amount of red dust in side. Not looking forward to cleaning it tomorrow!
Great trip though.
Ken
I just fitted my Airbag Man Heavy duty airbags and Kevlar sleeves.
No worries about a droopy back end now ( for the Defender anyway!).
