I'm on my second set of dynamic 20mm offsets , with round holes . I run 265x75x16 tyres , they just keep inside the guards , give a better turning circle , and of course a wider track . I really like them . Plus they look good as well !!.. Jim

That was a big hit, stuffed the back tyre too but that rim was fine.

If that was a 19'' rim this thread would last another 20 pages. Pat

Weeds, for what its worth Dynamic rims sit on the studs, not the hub. Wolf actually don't sit either on the hub but they have a minimal clearance in-between the hub and rim. What that all means perhaps the engineers can answer, but it must mean something and I think NSW and perhaps Qld by the book say dynamic are illegal or need spacers in-between hubs and rims.

How about second hand, you have time, there must be enough crashed puma 130's and 110 utes around these days. A wolf with a 255 weighs in at 40kg. Where as a boost alloy is around 35kg. Not much but weight is the enemy of a tourer, and it all starts with being tuff on weight to start with. I wouldn't think a boost alloy is a significantly lesser rim than a wolf. The wolfs were made for the UK army in overloaded landies to go smashing across virgin terrain. Maximum sidewall motion strength and weigh loading. Something that very few of us do in reality.

Had a chat to nugget about the spacer things......whether you have OEM rims or aftermarket neither sit on the hub......well that my thoughts.

    Hi Weeds,

I've been running Dynamic 16 x 8 (D holes) with zero offset matched with 285/75 16 MTZ's for years now on my 130 and am really enjoying the ride.

Dynamic rims are very hardy and I've never had an issue with ill-fitting or loose wheel nuts or flaking power coating. I don't use Nugget's spacers. Don't see the need.

Inside.....were you able to repair the dented rim with a few hits from an FBH?

I've just received my set of Dynamic 16x7 sunraysia style rims with +20mm offset and 1400kg load rating. After lots of research and feedback from AULRO members, I chose to go with Bridgestone Dueler 661 238/85 x16 tyres which also have a 1400kg rating. Wayne's (Nugget) centric rings make for a snug fit onto the hubs.

I was told by the tyre dealer that Dynamic recommended their own wheel nuts for these wheels. When I checked them, they matched the countersink angle of the stud holes - approximately 60?. Here was a dilemma for me because I had already bought the standard LR wheel nuts which are for a 45? countersink angle. These have only a narrow contact patch on the rim and I have had to torque up the nuts a couple of times. Tomorrow the wheels are going under a large radial drill to have their stud holes countersunk to match the LR wheel nuts.

After having this wheel and tyre set, along with new Koni Raid 90 shocks all round for only a couple of days, I can honestly say that the transformation to the Defender's ride has been impressive!
