They thrive on hard work. Its the life they were meant for.
Just had the 5th timing belt change on my 97 110. The ute has worked in the bush from new, rolled a couple of times, sunk in rivers and overloaded but still going strong with only a rebuild on the injector pump required, all other components are original.

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.
You are Correct, second hand roof and a new headboard built! I should have said mechanical components, yes gearbox is original and untouched, still on its second clutch, it has obviously had bushes replaced where required and oil seals, but these are more wear items than component failures..
Thanks for that
Can you tell me what gear oils you have run in the box?
I would be very interested to know
Cheers
Paul.

Always ATF, have used Penrite for the last few changes, 80w90 truck diff oil in the TC and diffs, 10k changes on the motor using delo 400 for the last 350,000km and its still not using oil between changes, which is a good sign..
Sorry Summitt but I don't believe you,Izzuzzu's are the only LR engine's that can do 500,000k's,I read it on here some it must be true.
Mines only got 495,000 but I'm doing the Connie Sue in 4 weeks so it'll have a chance to close the gap.Pat
