It was my fault. I didn't think it through very well. The Racor unit replaced the separator. So became a primary filter. It was catching and blocking from sand grain size rust particles and then oil residue from the jerry I was using. The Lucas separator is a good primary for water and larger particles. I can be cleaned on the side of the road if necessary. The Racor catches more water I think. The Isuzu spin on filter is 10 micron I think. It was still fitted.

very good point re: supply for pump
Ill look into the wiring and see if I can tap the relay from the inertia switch

Other option is to plumb it in as is and then just keep the pump for priming duties

Thanks for putting this up Daz. I had previously had a cursory look for it in the chassis rail by the tank as per Nugget's instructions & didn't locate it. Your photo above gave me the exact location & I did find mine although hanging loose below the filler pipe, and directly behind the rear wheel:

I have since tie wrapped it so it is in the same location as the one in your photo.

Do what I did and thread a section of nylon tubing from the tank right up to the engine bay. Join it to the tube near the tank and relocate the breather to the engine bay and all your problems solved.

That's exactly how I found my 2016 90 breather, hanging down when I took delivery. I thought it was a bit odd and promptly tied it up correcty. It would be very easy for to water to spray up from the rear wheel and end up in the tank in certain circumstances.

In the correct location like in Dazza's photo, wouldn't the wheels throw around a ton of water during a river crossing, even a shallow crossing, making it very likely for water to be sucked in?

Quite possibly as the one way valve in the breather line apparently allows air in as fuel is pumped out to prevent the tank collapsing, from my interpretation of the system. With the pipe correctly clamped up as in Dazza's photo the opening of the hooked outlet is 90cm above the ground, or the same as the bottom of the air inlet (without RAI). So not sure what sort of breather pressures we are talking about, but could be that the crook shape of the breather inlet is enough to prevent moisture being sucked in!
