    Clutch problems

    Advise needed!
    Got into Narrogin a little while ago and found that I had no clutch. The pedal went straight to the floor. I bought to some clutch fluid (btw, the reviser was not empty) only to find that now the clutch will only depress 1/2 an inch or so. Will not engage the clutch at all.

    Does any one have any ideas what could be wrong? It feels like something has slipped out of alinement???

    I am able to get going starting in 1st low and changing gears (crash style - thank goodness for those hours of practice) and think I am able to get into high range, so "should" be able to get home. But if any one has any ideas that could help, that would be great!

    I drove comma to Brisbane without a clutch......no need to crash them

    Never had it lock up I.e. Only depress 1/2". If fluids are OK and there are no leaks than maybe the flex pipe has collapsed.....other than the the push rod might have dislodged.....or what happened to me was the push rod went through the fork (wore a hole in it)

    Not grinding the gears, just using the revs to slip into gear.

    Its a 300tdi about 370Ks

    Umm, wouldn't discount the push rod jammed in the fork. You would need to remove the slave to confirm this.

    Otherwise it's a hydrostatic lock.....could be Slave or master.

    Sounds like the clutch release fork has let go, not uncommon on a tdi.

    Transmission out if that is the case

    I'll take the slave cylinder off when I get home. Can you explain "Hydrostatic lock"?

    Something has blocked the clutch line/hose/pipe......rubber from inside the flex hose, something from the master.....this could make you clutch solid. How likely it would happen in not sure.

    If you are very careful the fork can be replaced by sliding the transmission back on a floor jack (or similar) but you have to be very careful.
    I replaced my clutch fork that way.
