    Defender pillar jack storage

    Hi, ever since getting my defender I have never had a home for this jacking plate to be secured. The pillar jack and wheel brace are in their little black bag strapped under the back seats, but this thing just slides around on the floor and I'm 'jack' of it! There's a stupid little bracket in the photo that's not mounted anywhere and I would like to know if anyone could tell me please how this thing is secured in the cab. Cheers.

    That jack went strait into the shed, way to scary for me, I carry a disco or r rover red bottle jack ,and at times a highlift with an attachment that fits the holes provided for the original...
    Way easier and safer to lift the axle of the ground rather than the whole car

    +1 for a bottle jack. Neatly sits down the side of the rear seat box wrapped in a towel.

    As I remember it the base was stored in the back tool box behind the LH wheel with a rubber ring to hold it.
    That was before I tossed it all into a dark corner of the shed along with the silly 1/2 turn ratchet lever that went with it.
    Hydraulic bottle jack is much more sensible.

    I have the bracket with mine and always wondered what the heck it is for and what I am supposed to do with it I have the base plate in the storage box under my seat

    X 2 on the bottle jack.
    I binned the factory one as I was never going to use it.
    And a decent hardwood sole plate for soft or uneven surfaces in a must IMO.
