    Locking up in low range.

    I was towing 3t about 1k on property when the rear wheel locked up. I thought it was the trailer brake. I stopped and started off again. It did it again. I moved it up into high range. No problems. As I was going over a shoulder it dropped out of range by itself and was in neutral. I pushed it back into high range. Drove home and no problems. It does feel like there is no detent or locking mech between high and low. Any ideas?

    Possibly linkages... I had an issue with my cdl not going in turned out to be a loose bolt in the linkages, can you lock it into low from under the car and see if it stays in? That's basically how I worked out the cdl not engaging... those leavers and linkages are long and a tiny amount of slop up high turns into cm's at the transfer case

    From memory you can access the top linkage by pulling the rubber boot and gear stick nobs off( you can for the cdl linkages and the high low shaft is visible through there... worth a look... the larger bolt at the bottom is the high/ low linkage( part of) the smaller to the right with the docket is cdl linkage

    Just went for a short trip to the shops and now no speedo fuel gauge or temp gauge. Clock still work's and idiot lighas but no blinkers

    Yep most weird.. time to check all the relays and fuses, what engine? Td5's have a main fuse block with the ecu under the seat

    Well I got to the bottom of it all. It appears I have two problems. One.... I need to adjust the hi-lo selector as mentioned. Two.... repair trailer wiring that got damaged and shorted. It brought on my trailer brake's hence the lockup! It also burnt out the fuse on the indicator circuit. So all good now.
