You could put a coat of raptor liner over it. You can even get it colour matched. Can be rolled, or sprayed with a conventional gun or a shutz gun. It'd also probably seal any leak but don't take my word for it.
My td5s roof has seen better times 80% of the clearcoat has cleared out and I need to try and jack out a bow where some fool stood on it.
Leaks like a sieve as well and I put that down to water pooling on the roof( well partly anyhow)
Question is , has anyone come up with some super flexible and paintable tape to actualy seal the seams with( eg a roofing product) or has a suitable substitute .?
Silicone hasn't held up that well and I'd like to be able to paint over it.
I'm thinking cream roof( heat reflection) and some form of industrial paint( it's a burgandy red couloured car)
Any thoughts
Regards mark
Ps have considered just pop riveting and sikaglexing a big sheet of ally over it lol

Automotive seam sealer is the answer available from supercheap and most other auto shops.
Septone are one of a number of producers.

Looking at the link it implies that you'd just put it along the seem on the roof. Then you could paint over the whole lot with raptor liner.

Wouldnt be my choice.
The prep effort required for leaks to be fixed and paint to stick, I would go for a suitable automotive paint to finish off.
Scrape out the old sealant in the gutters and across the roof seam.
Panel straighten as desired -Prep the roof for repaint -
Mask around the edge of the roof (approximately 10mm higher than the gutter) and approximately 5mm either side of the seam across the middle.
Seal only the seams and place a dob on the rivets.
Depending on temperature the sealant will skin within 15 minutes and remove the tape. It is quite fluid and will typically self level before skinning.
Any tatty bits will smooth/blend nicely with a cloth dampened with thinners, even if it has already cured for a few days.
Thats the way I would do it for a permanent fix and nice finish.
But if you dont care for a factory type finish the Rhino liner or Bitumen, Stone flex type paints in an aerosol will do the job.- just not my preference.

Raptor liner is very durable.
Hi I've also have a red td5 and the clear coat on the bonnet is buggered . So I've just brought the paint to have it resprayed . Cost $ 195.00 with thinners , primer , red paint and hardener . The thing is the metalic paint is two pack for our vehicles ! My roof is white and not matalic , have you thought about going white it may save you some $$ Most whites up on the roof would look OK . The other thing is you have to get all the clear coat rubbed back , that is going to be one rotten job It took long enough to do just a bonnet , so sod doing a roof !!.. Jim
Cheers jimr1 , I am going white or cream on the roof , te the topcoat/ clear coat there's less than 15% of it left lol so rubbing it down won't be a problem( cept the cutters will be a cow)
Cheers mark
