Thread: 110 Chassis Front Rubber Cap Purpose?

Hi all,


I'm welding and grinding away on my chassis prepping it to be gal'd.


The very front of the chassis was stuffed up with rust so I opened up the very lower front piece to clean and rust convert. I'm closing it up now and wondering what the functionality of this piece is because I'd rather weld a solid plate back over it instead of fabricating a perfect hole for the big rubber plug to go back in.

I use it as my high lift jack point. Same as the 2 holes in the rear.

So I don't need to fabricate the holes in the front?
