    Discovery steel rims on 110

I replaced the RRC steel rims with a refurbished set of Discovery steel rims,

I noticed that the studs don't protrude out of the bolts, they still have a thread or two to be flush with the bolts,

Is it secure to have the bolts as such?

It is a look and a result I like Lebanon, I have D1 steels on my County and Perenties and the stud length has the same non-protrusion as yours - hasn't been a problem

A cheap way of getting strong good quality tubeless rims onto a 110

I think technically there's longer studs available that you could knock in if you keen.

They are a good strong low cost rim. The wolf rims are unnecessarily thicker/stronger again but have slightly better offset. I fitted the D1 then wolf rims. The wolfs need the extra long studs but not the D1 rims IMHO.

    wheel load rating.

From the back of the head.... I recall the load rating on the disco rims is not sufficient for a fully loaded defender. I had looked at using them on the trayback however insufficient strength.

Someone may have the actual numbers. Was around the time a lot of white wheels with triangular slots were found to be lacking and cracking.

From memory Disco 1 steelies around 1,650 kgs and the Boost alloys were around 900 kgs.

A hell of a load to overload those steelies.

On the subject of disco steelies, can anyone recommend a place in sydney to get the centres re-welded to give 0 offset?
