			Rear View Mirror

I've always thought the rear view mirror was too low, obstructing the drivers view (even for shorties like me!). After chatting to Weeds yesterday, I was encouraged to see he has the same thought, and was wondering if anyone else was bothered enough by it to do something about it?

I had the mirror off recently, and by holding it in place was happy with the view it gave even when held up high against the top of the windscreen. I notice you can get universal mirrors that attach directly to the windscreen, either with glue or a suction mount. I'd rather not shortern the existing miror arm.

The only issue as I can see with having the mirror higher is interference with the visors, which would need to be overcome.

 Anyone tried anything else?

			Rear View Mirror

I have used a D2 mirror instead which gave a little more height and wider view.
The stdD2 mirror is the same as the D1.
You need a glue kit from super cheap etc.
In fact just about any brand type that adheres to the screen will probably suit.

If you want to go high tech you could the self dimming D2 motto with built in compass.

To cover the old mirror mount position I have simply used a D1/2 blank from the roof console with som double sided tape.
If you didn't know Defenders you wouldn't know

Bought and fitted a suction cup version (https://www.autobarn.com.au/drive-mi...ion-type-mh690) this morning. Seems to work fine thus far, very stable, and able to put much higher up and still not foul the visors. For $15 I'm pretty happy so far.
