Glad to learn your boys and yourself came through OK, and that you will have a full recovery.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It is a useful lesson to us all and I for one will be checking my safety gear and applying extra caution in similar situations now.

    Get well soon

Glad you and your kids are relatively OK.
With the car, is it a write off? They have a habit of ending up like a crushed coke can, so I hope you get it rebuilt. I read that you are very didicated to your defender.

Eleven years ago I was having smoko in a park in a small country town when a big van slowly drove past. I could see that the driver was interested in my Series 1. The car drove to the other side of the park where there was a big parking place. For quite a while I could see movement in the car. Finally the back opened , a ramp extended and a bloke in a wheel chair lowered himself to the ground. He drove around the park in his wheelchair and stopped by my L/R. I walked over and he told me had a series 1. We had a bit of a chat and I pointed to my front mudguard and said "Pity about this dent, this happened when I rolled my car." He pointed to his legs and said "This happened when I was a passenger in a L/R that rolled". That was the last time I worried about dents in any of my cars. Make of it what you like.

Thanks Toxic Avenger the vehicle was a write off it took them 2 days to recover but we survived. Regarding Rebuildind l have been rebuilding my 130!for the last 2 years l had this dream off rolll bars , extension, twin wheel carriers, front and rear winch ,extra fuel tanks, water tank, etc, so am currently monitoring and keeping the build in time frame so hopefully when l am out of my neck brace and l can drive the 130 will be ready. Once it is finished if you like l will post some photos.
    Thanks for your support

You were lucky to get away with that. Happy the prognosis is positive, for sure!

Did you happen to get any pics of the rolled car?

My last 130 was nicknamed 'Rolly" by friends, for an obvious reason, but it kind of just had a lay down. Nothing akin to as bad as you are describing.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Wow. Lucky doesn't cover it. As someone who has spent three months in a "philly collar", I feel for you. The worst thing was having to sleep on my back. No, the worst thing was not shaving. No, it was the itch. No.... I did what they call a "rotational sublux of C1 C2" in a truck rollover. A millimetre more and I would either be a quad or dead.

Mate, you are here to love your boys. Life is beautiful.

And my philly collar? I couldn't throw it away fast enough. After reading your post, maybe I'll get another one...
