    Transmission leak

Got a leak in my transmission

Cleaned it up then left it to see where it coming from

    Appears to be two areas
    1) the joint in the trasmission where two parts of metal come together ( on left of attached pic)
    2) seeping through the two bottom bolts in the top of the picture

I thought of tightening the bolts that hold the to parts together ( ie trying to tighten up the seal ) and also tighten up the two seeping bolts .......but I don't want to over tighten and make things worse

This is not a huge leak .....but after a few days there is transmission fluid on the exhaust pipe and I'm not happy about that ....Also worried that any loss of transmission fluid may not be good for the moving metal bits in side .......

Hope the above is understandable as I'm not mechanically minded so not entirely sure what I'm looking at .

    Comments advice welcome

    Pic didn't work..

However I'm guessing one of the leaks is the bolts on the cover plate.

The other is the seal between transfer and gearbox - it needs seal replacement.

That would be the rear transmission seal. Yes time to remove transfer case and replace it. While in there pack the adapter shaft and coupling with a decent molybdenum grease.

Also in the last few days I have noticed that I'm getting a bit of a clunk from the transmission ? I think ? .......I change gears ...and a second it two later I hear a clunk or knock coming from underneight ........not sure what's the issue thought it might be related to the leak
But don't think the fluid level is low as the leak only recently started and is not huge ..........BTW how do you check the trans fluid on a 110 .......doesn't seem to have a dip stick ?

Think I might have to get it to the mechanics to check it out

Much obliged for the help ......
