Good to know.... I assume the filler is not located where it would pelted with stones, etc?

Anti surge balls are way to big (small ones are 195mm)
Just had a look at whats available with surge in mind, you can look at bio balls from the fish tank industry or plastic practise golf ball, both are around 40mm round so are small enough to fit in the neck of the filler.
I will be going the way of the golf ball for my fuel tank.
Cheers

I add to this what I experienced with my Watertank on our Campertrailer. We had the plastic fittings for the Filler and outlets on the watertank. During our last outback trip along some pretty stoney country roads, a stone bounced up and hit the plastic filler connections and broken it off, resulting in loss of water. I was just wondering how protected these plastic fittings are against stones, etc....
Yes very good point about stones. I haven't got around to it yet but I will be rigging up either a rubber or sheet metal guard to protect from any damage from stones. instead of plastic, steel or brass fittings could be used also, but a guard still probably a good idea.
Well, I got to see the fitted tank on Saturday[bigrolf]
Extremely neat the way the brackets hold it in place and the rolled edge looks neater the then sharp corners that some steel sill tanks have.
I discussed my preferred fill method for fuel of using the original filler and will look into how a pipe could be plumbed to suit.
I've got an idea for a neat, out of the way setup but want to do some more investigating and discuss it with Andrew first.
Protecting the elbow, if used would be simple as mounting points for a protective panel can be fitted.
I had a look at the cross section cut of from the first trial, very consistent thickness and I think it will be up to the task for my intended purposes.
I'm keen for a water tank as a priority and have offered my rig for test fitting.
Now all we need is a few more members who are keen.
If we played our cards right tax refunds would appear as the tanks are ready[thumbsupbig]
To get in on the action Who wants shingleback sill tank for a 110?
The elbow is at the rear of the tank? Would it need any more protection??
Either way for the RH sill Im pretty certain plenty have used the OEM filler split into two.
For the LH...I haven't really looked.
I've seen a fuel sill tank in a 90 with the origional fill point with a Mulgo Y piece.
Not sure if he is member on here but have put out feelers and hope to see him at Melrose again.
LH water could be filled from the top fairly easily through a hose fitting.
I'm still thinking about other options so a Jerry can can be used to top it up.
