SubscriberI am away for work but just before I left I crashed her car. Initially thought not so bad, she can drive my Defender. Anyway, couple of days in it breaks down. Land Rover assist are great - collect car and she gets a near new Range Rover Sport. Happy days.
Yesterday she is all ready to head down south for the long weekend. First of all warning light for suspension in the RR comes on. Luckily just after we get a call from dealer to say the Defender is sorted (supposedly just a sensor about air supply) so she waits for school pick up and heads over to swap cars. Picks up the Defender, drives out 100m and it goes back into crawl mode. Arrgghh. What did they do in a week!
Then she gets back it back to dealer but because of the warning she can't drive the RR down south and has to wait till 10am Sat for another car.
Lucky for me I am far away! Kids and wife not happy!

Land Rover Assist are brilliant. What makes them so good is their ability to respond and the fact that you get a like for like replacement vehicle.
I didn't know you could extend the Assist program beyond the warranty and was told too late but I will no doubt be joining back up.
You know you could probably just ask them for any car to get around until yours is fixed and they'll probably accomodate. Give them a buzz and get back in the good books before you get home.
Based on our recent experience I'm going to go with not much.
Last year I picked up our daughter's 90 after they had adjusted the steering. I pulled into the middle lane of the Highway just as the lights changed. Everything went crash bang wallop and lights flashing on the dash. I had 3 lanes of traffic bearing down on me. Hazard lights on and I pulled into the next carpark. I walked back to the dealer and threw the keys on the desk and told them where it was. Turns out when you adjust the steering you need to adjust the DSC sensor as well and they didn't realise. It also means they adjusted the steering and didn't test drive it.
It was lucky I had picked up the car and not our 21yr old daughter as I dread to think what might have happened if she had been driving.

SubscriberAt least some positive news. The RR warning light went off of its own accord and so LR Assist said keep it and my wife and kids have been able to head off to my parents farm.
After the three hour drive the kids are now keen for me to swap the Defender for the RR! They have turned traitorous on me.
When I stuffed up I turned her car on its side in a creek on our property in a flood, opps..
When I finally made it to the bank I wondered if it was worth trying to swim to the other side....
Not a happy lady..
Like I said opps..
