Thread: refitting defender flares

You shouldn't need adhesive.....I just removed and refitte mine and there was no adhesive.

The adhesive was probably used for the aftermarket flares.

Agreed. I removed and replaced mine - no adhesives at all. 2013 Defender 90.

Oh and buy a full set of plastic rivets.....way easier then mucking around with the old ones

I buy the 6mm and 8mm diameter ones by the hundred out of china. Fling-woo ebay special, super bargain, much wow. A1+++etc

These ones retain the pin, rather than having it shoot into the muddy abyss of the wheel well.
Quality is not amazing... but for something that collects mud and is cheap enough to throw away, I don't mind.

IIRC, I use a mix of 6mm and 8mm diameter rivets, depending on the size of the hole that LR decided to drill in my car, and the fit-up of the guard.

I did buy new set of rivets but seem to like they just push in rather than rivet in?
