    80,000km Service PUMA

    Hi All
My 130 is going into Les Richmond in April for a Major Service. They are a great workshop, but l thought l'd ask the 'font of all knowledge' if there is anything in particular or specific that is worth checking/changing that might not be picked up or done at 80,000kms?

I do a leaking transfer case seal...that is making my workshop floor fairly messy! Hoping that can wait...

    Thanks in advance,
    Michael

My last service was $350-400 from memory?
    Are using same workshop??

I travel from Gippsland to have Les Richmond's look after our 130. I feel it is worth the travel and time.

I'd be interested in any suggestions too, my 130 will be due for the 80000 service in the next month. I've only had it for a month so any suggestions for things to look out for appreciated. Cheers

A dealer quoted me $1500 for the 80,000 km service, but I got it done at an independent for half that amount. There is a fair bit of work involved - lots of fluids. Be fussy about them using the correct oils. Don't let them forget the fuel filter near the fuel tank. Make sure they check for recalls. I would also insist everything gets a good grease.

Who did you use Mick? Mine will be up for the 80k service soon. I usually use Ricks at Nerang, but he doesn't spend much time himself on the cars anymore from what I am led to believe, and I don't want to sell a kidney to get Lyntons to do it.

I used ABS in Moss Street at Slack's Creek. Ask for Michael, the boss.
Really, any decent service chain should have the recommended service details on their computer network. It's not like they are unusual, this being a Ford engine and transmission.
