    LT230 jack lifting mount

Has anyone had success / failure with the lifting mount for the LT230?

    Looks like this:

Easily made with scrap steel and a few rods.
Might need to get my Transfer case out some time soon... wondering if its worth my fabrication time making the bracket, or if others have found a better way.

Does this bolt onto the cover plate? I'd spend the time to make it i reckon, it's a bugger of a job to get it in and out as it is, anything that will make it easier will be appreciated. Should only take a couple of hours to make.

I made it and have used it once.
    Made removing/ installing much easier.
I welded a spigot onto the bottom which fits into my trolley jack, this allows the box to be lowered and can be wheeled out.

Thumbs up Transfer case adapter for trolley jack

Yep it looks like that i welded a piece o pipe to mine that fits in my trolley jack.

I then ran the car up a set of axle stands at the back so the gearbox was horizontal. It slid back along the guide bolts with the jack rolling on the garage floor. if you get the center of balance on the mount right it will sit perfectly.

I made a rough copy of the factory jack adaptor and it has served me well over the years. The trolley jack spigot should make it easier to use by yourself although I never did that. The alloy finned extended sump is also a useful jacking platform as the bottom is basically flat, so if you're thinking of buying one do so before you remove the TC.

I made my last one out of 15mm MDF,cheap and easy.Or alternatively remove the cubby box and get the gearbox/TC out in one piece with an engine hoist through the seat box. Pat
