    Only because they can get caught when reversing in mud etc. The ones I am replacing are badly damaged and patched up by the previous owner.

    I've just put Defender mud flaps on my D4 rather than be charged 800 bucks for little plastic ones from the stealer. Didn't bother checking heights from ground etc. as there's no way I'll get a ticket for anything other than speeding in WA anyway.
    It's patently obvious to me that the height from the ground is of no concern ( as are many offences) to traffic cops when there's so many hoon fourbys going around with huge tyres sticking way out past the pathetic mud flaps they have.
