Thread: Tow Pro into Puma

Mine is currently sitting on the facia, by the right hand square air con vent.
As I have a double din facia, my right panel is taken up with switches and a gauge.
Its stuck on firmly with 3M tape, but I would like to mount it more inconspicuously.
I look forward to others options, as there really isn't that much space on the Puma dash.

mine is on the cubby, in between the cup holders. good for adjusting without having to look as its just below the gear stick.

That position looks like it might be difficult to get to if you needed to manually activate the trailer/van brakes in a hurry.

It's actually really handy Ken, it sits just below your left hand which is usually close by. I think its much easier than finding it on the dash.

Be careful if you put it on one of the side wing s that you don't put it to low. I put mine too low and I often move it with knee. Scares the hell out of when you don't realize I've bumped it to maximum and hit the brake and trailer locks up.

As I can't move my truck for the next week or so, I might look into the option of gutting one of the switch blanks, I.e, seeing if I can make the Tow Pro dial switch assembly fit inside OR, cut the body of the blank away, so I can just mount the switch face in place and mount the rotary dial that way. It could fit into the dash face to the right of the stereo that way.
Ill see how it goes tomorrow and if successful, post photos.

There you go.
I trimmed the plastic from a switch blank, relocated my right hand flood light switch down to the air con cluster, and trimmed the plastic lip away from the double din facia.
Sikaflex to hold the rotary switch in place and it came up ok. I can see what the LED is doing this way, and the amount of bias to the caravanbrakes.
Im happy with the result, and it cleans up my dash a lot.As usual since the site crash, sorry about the sideways pictures. The upload does this at random.

This is where I put mine..

Easy to reach while driving, I cant actually see the light unless I look over the wiper stalk but I dont need to see it, just click it up or down occasionally or press it in from time to time and I have never needed to look to find it.
