    300Tdi Vacuum pump specs

The vacuum pump on our Defender 130 is only producing 7" HG vac and has no assistance when braking.

The workshop manual says 0.8 bar?? This seems odd as bar measures pressure not vacuum.

Does anyone know what a healthy vacuum pump should produce?

Mean sea level atmospheric pressure is 1 bar or 1000mbar, so a measured vacuum of 0.8 bar is an absolute pressure of 0.2 bar. So I'd expect 24 (0.8 of 30) in Hg to be quite achievable. A mate of mine just fitted a new s/h booster to his 300TDi RRC but it turned out the vacuum pump was stuffed. Another pump solved his problem.

Thanks for your advice Bee utey,

Looks like it needs a new pump.
