Hi guys
I'm doing a complete re-wire/rebuild of a 1989 110
Just about all of the original wiring has gone. I'm having fun (hah!) replacing just about everything from scratch, using the main parts of a 1995 Disco 1 V8 loom.
Forget the V8 loom for this post. I can add/remove any wires as necessary. It's a mission
I now have a new Trico rear wiper motor AMR3676 for the rear door. This has two connectors on it, a 3 pin (W, G, N wires) and a single pin (Y wire) .
Over the years this same part number applies but each iteration has it's own wiring system. (eg a red/black 2 pin connector and a 3 pin connector with variations on the NLG ,RLG, WG & BG theme.
The latest 2002 Defender wiring diagram, of course, shows just the LR wiring colours. All the older ones do too!
None show the actual wiring within/on the motor unit itself.
I am capable of adding any suitable wires into the connectors and hooking them up to the rear wiper relay ( I still have that, thankfully) and then up to the new rear/wash/wipe switch (Carling style) in the dash.
Is anyone able to tell/show me the pin assignments on the two connectors? 3 pin [ W, G, N ] and the single pin within the two pin receptacle (Y wire) ?
(I've blown 4 fuses now trying to find which one is Earth!)
LR seem to have changed the wiring system for the rear wiper over the years. The latest implementation is that the wiper motor initial switching on is via Earth, but there's nothing I can find online to show what wires (colors? - designation?) match into this new Trico unit... !
