I was thinking for starters:-

Power upgrade, new second hand seats from a late model deefer, tow bar and 7pin socket, tow-pro, new rubber seals all round, fix the rattly sliding windows, fix the rattly rear door, sound proofing, new bluetooth radio, CB radio, winch, snorkel, upgrade the lights, set of Lightforce driving lights, set of drawers in the back, second battery.

What wheels do you recommend?

Have I missed any essential things?

Do all the TD5 things and don't assume that because the ks are limited that they don't apply
I bought a Stage 1 Land Rover that had done 80000 ks in 26 years and it suffered worse than one that had done a lot more ks

I would be having a good look at the head
Change the injector harness
Check Fuel Pressure regulator and the Fuel Cooler (I think a 1999 has one)
Check out the coolant type if its not the right type check out the radiator and the oil cooler.
I would check the wheel bearings 17 year old grease isn't the best
Change all gearbox oils
Personally I would check the oil pump bolt

All this assumes it doesn't have a perfectly detailed service history

I have the same vehicle but its a 2002 model

Thanks for that info - you were right - I should look at how sound the 110 is before I look at mods. After a thorough going over here is the damage:

Small leaks from gear box & transfer case – no action required
Front brakes low brake pads & discs
Steering damper U/S
LH & RH swivel seals leaking
Water pump leaking
Sump leaking
RHR mud flap U/S
All hoses old - need replacing
Radiator leaking
Turbo drain gasket leaking
Brake fluid old - needs replacing
Rocker cover leak with injector loom

A fit bit to do before I even think of mods.
