Thread: TD5 Defender High Mount Winch Bullbar

Hi Guys,
I am looking for advice on a "hens tooth".

I have a beautiful old Warn high mount winch that was given to me by my dad (its a bit of a cherrished heirloom), and I want to try and fit it to my 130 TD5 single cab work ute. The problem is that I have a Landrover genuine low mount winch bullbar already on my 130.

I have heard that there were a few ARB High mount winch bulbars that were made and fitted to Defender County's, with air conditioning that might fit onto a TD5 Defender.

I am looking for either a secondhand bullbar, or for a economical solution.

My questions are:

1. Are there any other bulbars that might fit a TD5 and hold a high mount winch?
2. Does anyone know of a compatible bullbar for sale (or if there is such a thing, for free)?
3. Do you guys think that custom modifying a bullbar might be an option (is it even legal)?

Hi I do believe you can still get that winch bar from ARB , they have supperceded it with the Delux winch bar as they call it . The only thing is they're not cheep . Mine was about $1200 a few years ago . There Delux bar is about $1600 or more now . I would be looking for a second hand bar , the thing is they don't come up for sale often . Back to ARB I think they sell the bottem half of the bar , the bit the winch sits on . Have you thought about a tubeular type winch bar ? Whatever way you go good luck and let us know you go ? Jim
