By the time I got to the side of the road and stopped the engine off there was not enough oil to register on the dip stick. Mechanic later said there was bit more than 1/2 a liter left in the sump.

I had no permanent damage, (Well other than the turbo ) , he did do a thorough check to be sure.

Hope your in the same boat.

    Cheers Glen
Thanks Glen. Feeling a bit more hopeful now I know the oil was still up to the low mark on the dipstick. Thinking about it I recon the oil pressure would have dropped off because of the free flow through the Turbo into the exhaust.

Obviously every case is different, but I hope that your motor is OK for the experience.
BTW, once you've got everything back together, remember to take it outside before starting.
My mechanic forgot and you could still smell the smoke in his workshop a month afterwords.

Lenny, "worn"the word i'm thinking of starts with "F", I"m surprised the motor never run away luckily the bulk of the oil went out the exhaust side.

I'm going to dial gauge mine when I put it in as a base line. It will be interesting to see how it goes over time. 😁
