Moragg - I like that, thanks.

I have no doubt it's better and safer than the factory arrangement....

I'm certain though that something like that would have to be engineered to be legal (which obviously being a passenger seat is something insurance would require).

Does anyone know what that process would be ?
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Question would be how often will you have people in the rear seats for long drives where comfort will be an issue....

lots of expense to have to engineered for little use.

Bucket seats in rear of Defender 130 cab?

I saw a red 130 for sale not too long ago that had bucket seats in the rear. I never saw it in person so couldn't say how it was done. Vlad did you sell that tank you were talking about? If not I'd be keen to perhaps take it off your hands.

I have a feeling engineering might involve crash testing the vehicle to see if the seats hold in place. Which would kind of wreck your car. I heard this somewhere. Don't take it as gospel though.

    I am getting ready to....

I will post pictures as we do over the next month or so. I am planning to move the front seats back to second row with my fridge as the centre console.
Next question is what to replace front seats with, Exmoor Standard or Exmoor Modular seats? I personally don't mind the existing seats, so don't have a need to go with a high $$$$ option.

If so, what seats did you use?
    How did you mount them?
Did you need to get the change engineered?

Pictures would be very ,much appreciated too.

    Cheers

Would Disco (D1/D2) front seats fit in a Defender HCPU 130 rear seat row.?

(with room for 40l Engel in between)

My defender front seats did not fit in back with the same fridge (40l Engel), so I went another option. I would imagine that the Disco seats would be even wider.

I have ordered the same/similar(black rack) along with matching premium upgrade heated trim for the front. ...compliance and seat mount engineering (@1500~2000) coupled with second hand seat costs (1500 pair) makes it uneconomical.

I am interested in fitting three high back seats to my 110, the fact of having my kids ride in the back without headrests is frightening, any idea on how to do that? which seats to use. I have access to Disco I front seats is it possible to fit three in the back?

Have you actually ever sat in the back seat of a 130 for an extended period? I returned from Birdsville recently with 4 adults in the 130 (i have added headrests to the original 1998 rear bench seat). We did 8 hours straight the first day (5 hours on dirt and 3 on bitumen) and 12 hours the next, only stopping for pee stops and lunch/food/fuel. There were no real complains about comfort from the rear passengers. (maybe I just couldn't hear them over the gearbox whine, tyre noise and wind howl ).

When travelling any great distance with my 2 sons, my 9 year old always manages to fall asleep in the back seat.

Trying to add aftermarket, or alternative landrover model seats will require a fabricated seat base frame...and engineering. I went down this path a while back, but I have water tanks under the seat and on the floor and I would have had to lose or seriously modify these to fit in a fabricated seat base frame.

Also remember that the rear seat base on a 110 is different to a 130
