I assume that's with the Shims and springs for the pins, etc ???

Rough idea of the $$ for OEM pads ??

Im willing to bet your disks are glazed. I put new pads with CRC silicone pad glue in mine and they still squealed.
A sanding disk on my drill fixed the problem.

Yeah already did the sanding disc thing but it only worked temporarily. The discs are still new.
Hoping the CRC might have been a solution, but a different pad might have to the solution in the end

    Guys,

After some names of different Brand Pads that people used on the rear of their Defenders that they have had success in not having squeaky brakes

What are the brembo brakes like?

One last crack at trying to solve the squeaky brakes - I've tried a product called "CRC Disc Brake Quiet". So far its working with the VERY HIGH pitch squeal now gone but I'm yet to go on dusty dirt roads and 4wdriving so time will tell, but all good for the moment....

I also use the CRC product and have done for years on many cars.
I love it but have found on my TD5 110 that with Bendix 4x4 pads on a glazed disc it still woke up the whole suburb!

    Question

Well... back to square 1 again.... Squealing on the REAR brakes is back and I've done the following:
    • Tried the products mentioned w/o success
    • Tried a different brand of pads w/o success
    • Sanded the Discs (both sides) and this fixed the squeal for a period of time but it's coming back again

    Things I've noticed:
    • No squealing of the brakes when I'm in reverse
    • I've blocked off the rear brake hose temporary to proved that it was coming the rear (which it is)
    • Squeal only seems to be there once the discs are warmed up (ie: after a period of driving to/from work)

Up for ideas on how to solve this PITA problem?

Softer Brake Pad ?? // New DISC's (again)??

Note: Calipers are not leaking / removed the small light spring that slides over the pins

    ideas??
